According to public filings, Layne’s Chicken Fingers plans to open a new location in Buda, at 381 Old San Antonio Rd. Permitting records list a construction completion date of January 2027. However, dates listed in public filings are not always definitive.
Layne’s Chicken Fingers was founded in Austin in 1994, growing from a single location into a fast-casual chain known for its hand-breaded, made-to-order chicken tenders, Texas toast, and signature sauces, including its popular Layne’s Sauce.
The brand has continued expanding across Texas and beyond in recent years, building a following particularly strong among college students and families. The Buda opening would add to Layne’s presence in the greater Austin area.
Layne’s expansion has been closely tracked by What Now Austin, which has previously covered similar openings tied to the brand’s broader growth across Central Texas, including a Temple location backed by a franchise group aiming to open nearly 30 Layne’s restaurants in the Austin area over the next 15 years
