According to a recently submitted permit application, Tapville Social Restaurant — “an innovative tech-forward hospitality concept renowned for its American scratch kitchen” — is gearing up to open a new location in Austin.
“We are elated to continue our brand’s expansion in Texas,” states Joseph Tota, CEO of Tapville Social on the concept’s website — “With kiosks and mobile units already in operation, we are excited to introduce our restaurant concept to Austin.”
Coming to 1836 San Jacinto Boulevard, the eatery will land near establishments such as the Blanton Museum of Art, the Bullock Texas State History Museum, and Scholz Garden.
What Now Austin reached out to the outpost’s franchisee, Shashi Rangaraju, to inquire about their plans for the upcoming spot, but they could not provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, the filing reveals that the “4,600 SF restaurant finish-out” — “including design and outfitting of a party room, bar, dining area, check-in area, and kitchen” — is scheduled to begin on February 3, 2025, and finish on July 25, and will cost an estimated $2,000,000.
An opening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
