According to public filings, Crunch Fitness is planning to open a new location at 6715 Interstate 35 in Austin. The 42,796-square-foot space could undergo interior renovations to convert an existing retail space into a full-service fitness facility, with construction scheduled to wrap up by early March 2027.
The new filing adds to Crunch’s growing Texas presence. As previously reported by What Now, the chain is also planning a second McKinney location at 1707 W. University Drive.
The project is developed by The Undefeated Tribe, one of the fastest-growing franchisees within the Crunch Fitness system, according to public information. Founded in 2018 by Tony Hartl, the group has plans to reach 100 locations across Texas, Oklahoma, Minnesota, New Mexico, and Missouri, and has been aggressively expanding its Austin footprint.
The gym chain is known for its “No Judgments” philosophy and high-value, low-price membership model, with memberships starting at $9.99 per month. A typical Crunch location could offer state-of-the-art cardio and strength-training equipment, group fitness studios, HydroMassage beds, tanning services, full-service locker rooms, and dedicated cycling and yoga studios.
What Now Austin reached out to representatives of Crunch Fitness but had not received a response as of press time.
The I-35 corridor location would place the gym along one of Austin’s busiest commercial stretches in the 78744 zip code, a rapidly growing area of South Austin that has attracted significant retail and residential development in recent years.
