According to public filings, Crunch Fitness is planning to open a second McKinney location at 1707 W. University Drive. The 52,000-square-foot space is set to undergo renovations to accommodate the new facility, with construction scheduled to begin in mid-June and wrap up in April 2027. The gym chain is known for its “No Judgments” philosophy and high-value, low-price membership model.
The project is being developed by CR Fitness Holdings LLC, the largest Crunch Fitness franchisee in the country, with more than 88 locations across Florida, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. What Now Dallas reached out to representatives of CR Fitness Holdings to learn more about the timeline for the new location but had not received a response as of press time.
Crunch Fitness offers a wide range of amenities, typically including state-of-the-art cardio and strength-training equipment, group fitness studios, HydroMassage beds, tanning services, full-service locker rooms with saunas, and dedicated cycling and yoga studios.
The new location comes as McKinney continues to grow rapidly. The city’s population surpassed 237,000 residents in early 2026 and is projected to continue climbing, creating demand for additional retail, entertainment, and fitness options throughout the area.
