A new Asian restaurant is making its way to downtown Melrose.
Bangkok Bar Shi is slated to open in about a month at 462 Main St, according to co-owner Amy Wiwitted, who will run the restaurant with her husband, Adisorn Sakkara. The upcoming eatery is a sister concept to Bangkok Bento in Boston’s Back Bay.
Wiwitted told What Now Boston that diners can expect several “very familiar” Thai and Japanese dishes from Bangkok Bento’s menu, including a variety of bento-style meals with curry and stir-fry. Unlike the original, however, Bangkok Bar Shi will feature a full sushi bar, plus new options like crispy duck fried rice and miso ramen.
In addition to their two Bangkok concepts, the husband-and-wife duo also owns Thai Saap Rice & Noodles Kitchen in Quincy and Sweet Rice in Jamaica Plain.
“We pride ourselves on running four family-owned restaurants in the Boston area,” said Wiwitted. “Our mission at Bangkok Bar Shi is to impress customers by sharing our love of authentic Thai and Japanese cuisine. We prepare our dishes with high-quality, flavorful, and fresh ingredients so that customers can experience the power of good food.”
