A new café is getting ready to make its debut in the northwest suburbs of Boston.
Commune All Day Cafe is slated to open in early June 2026 at 164 Lexington Rd, Suite 2 in Billerica, confirmed founder Sam Patel. As part of Commune Hospitality, the concept is envisioned as a “lifestyle-driven” space where guests can linger beyond the usual grab-and-go café setup.
“Positioned as more than a traditional coffee shop, Commune is built around the idea of Coffee. Community. Connection,” Patel shared in an email to What Now Boston. “The concept draws heavily from global café culture, where thoughtfully designed spaces serve as extensions of daily life equally suited for morning routines, midday breaks, and casual evening gatherings.”
At its core, Commune aims to strike a “balance between wellness, flavor, and accessibility.” The coffee program will feature beans from George Howell Coffee, alongside a curated lineup of high-quality coffee and cold brew from Rhode Island’s The Nitro Bar. The beverage menu will also include Commune teas and premium matcha developed in collaboration with Rhode Island-based Ceremony Matcha.
Beyond the classics, guests can expect a lineup of signature “Cloud Drinks”—visually layered, specialty beverages designed to be as delicious as they are eye-catching. Real-ingredient smoothies, cold-pressed juices, refreshers, and açaí bowls will also be available.
Commune takes an all-day approach to food, with breakfast available from open to close. The menu will include elevated toasts, balanced bowls, fresh salads, protein plates, tacos, sandwiches, artisan baked goods, gelato, and a dedicated kids’ menu.
“The menu is intentionally versatile and designed to accommodate everything from a quick grab-and-go stop to a more relaxed dine-in experience,” said Patel.
The space itself embraces a bright, airy aesthetic, complete with an ivory-toned palette, natural textures, and clean, minimal lines. Expansive windows and an open layout flood the café with light, while thoughtfully curated details bring a sense of warmth and cohesion throughout.
“Every element from plating to packaging has been considered as part of a unified visual identity,” Patel explained. “The goal is to create an environment that feels calm, modern, and adaptable to a range of uses, whether guests are meeting friends or colleagues, enjoying a quiet moment, or easing into their daily routine.”
