A local hospitality group is bringing three of its brands together under one waterfront roof.

Rebecca Roth Gullo, founder of The Gallows Group, announced this month that Blackbird Doughnuts and Sally’s Sandwiches will open as a dual concept at 11 Monsignor Albert A. Jacobbe Rd in East Boston’s Clippership Wharf, reports Boston Restaurant Talk.

The project will also feature “a little sprinkling of The Gallows,” the South End gastropub that closed in 2021 but has long been rumored for a return.

“The rumors are true,” Gullo shared via Blackbird Doughnuts’ social media. “We’re opening in East Boston. We cannot wait. It’s gonna be a full Blackbird, full Sally’s, with a little sprinkling of The Gallows.”

Founded in 2015, Blackbird Doughnuts has grown to seven Greater Boston locations. The shop is known for its scratch-made mini, cake, and brioche doughnuts, alongside coffee and other beverages.

Sally’s Sandwiches, which debuted in 2019, currently operates out of three Blackbird locations in the South End, Harvard Square, and Brighton, serving a lineup of sandwiches, salads, and wraps.

“We’ve been building this for a long time and we’re almost there,” said Gullo. “Full menu, full energy, and hopefully some lite bevvies in the mix.”

While an exact opening date has not yet been set, the team is aiming for a late spring or early summer 2026 debut. What Now Boston has reached out for additional details about the menu, atmosphere, and beverage program and will share updates as they become available.

In addition to the upcoming East Boston project, Banyan Bar + Refuge—a South End pan-Asian gastropub also from The Gallows Group—is eyeing a 2026 comeback after a June 2025 fire forced the restaurant to close.
