The annual Black Food Truck Festival is set to return to Charleston this spring, running from April 25 to April 27, 2025. The family-focused event will impress foodies with delicious West African and American soul food delicacies. Organizers have also come up with Trappyoke and Kids Zone to impress the attendees.

The Black community in Charleston gets together every year to celebrate its legacy through food. Organizers call upon food trucks of the community to bring along the flavors of West African and Black American soul food in the streets of Charleston.

The festive affair entertains the residents and visitors through mouthwatering delicacies, family-friendly activities, cultural celebrations, and live music.

To ensure Charleston families have a magical time at the event, organizers have set up a ‘kids zone.’ This will allow children to participate in activities like face painting and video gaming.

The festival organizers have further set up two lounges for the attendees to chill and relax with their friends. While the D & R Lounge has a bar and hookah section, the Luxe Mobile Cigar Lounge will offer indoor and outdoor seating arrangements with cigars for purchase.

Celebrating the musical talent of the Black community, the festival will offer attendees many live performances. Deejay Rubin will also appear and entertain the people of Charleston by playing hits from the 80s and 90s.

Craft artisans and vendors from the Black community will also grace the Black Food Truck Festival.

Rhythms & Booze

The Festival will start delighting the Charleston crowd this year from April 25 with the opening event, ‘Rhythms & Booze.’ This event will be held at the International African American Museum (4 Wharfside St, Charleston, SC 29401, United States). Attendees will get to enjoy cocktails, live music, and Black culture.

Trappyoke

Charleston’s residents and visitors can enjoy this karaoke event featuring costumes and hip-hop and R&B acts. Delicious bites and drinks will also be offered to the attendees.

AfroChuck

This event will be the final part of the Black Food Truck Festival. ‘Okan’ food truck will offer mouthwatering dishes. Whereas, an open bar will further add to the vibrance of the festival.

The main food truck event of the Black Food Truck Festival will be held on April 26 and 27 at the Exchange Park Fairgrounds (9850 Highway 78, Ladson, SC 29456, United States). Timings are from 12 pm to 7 pm. Tickets are available online.

Attendees are encouraged to wear semi-formal attire for the opening event, ‘Rhythms & Booze,’ on April 25. The timings for the same are from 7 pm to 11 pm.

Trappyoke will be held at Music Farm (32 Ann St, Charleston, SC 29403, United States).

Timings are from 8 pm to 12 am.
