Founded in Rio de Janeiro in 1870, Granado began as an apothecary producing remedies, cosmetics, and other plant-based products. In recent years, it has made its European debut with concept stores in Paris, Lisbon, and London, and in 2024, it launched stores in New York. Now, Granado is preparing to make its debut in Charleston. The brand’s third standalone boutique in the U.S., and its first outside New York, will open at 370 King St.
“As we continue expanding in the United States, we want to connect with American consumers beyond New York,” a representative told What Now this week. “Charleston is one of the country’s leading travel destinations, particularly among domestic travelers, making it an important city for introducing Granado to a broader audience. There is also a natural connection between Charleston’s rich history and preserved architecture and Granado’s own heritage as a Brazilian brand founded in 1870. King Street felt like the perfect setting for this next chapter of our U.S. expansion.”
Opening in a 539.6-square-foot space, the Granado concept store will carry goods from the brand’s collections of fragrance, body care, and home scent products.
“The boutique brings together Granado’s Brazilian identity and more than 150 years of heritage within a contemporary retail environment,” the representative said. “Its furniture is inspired by the original furnishings of Granado’s first store in downtown Rio de Janeiro, creating a connection between the brand’s history and its new home in Charleston.”
No opening date has been announced yet for Charleston’s Granado store, but stay tuned for an update once it’s announced.
