“Construction is underway…” says a video published on Youtube by the Berkeley Observer “for the new Cook Out restaurant in Moncks Corner.”
Word first got out about plans for the burgers-shakes-BBQ-and-more chain to open its first Moncks Corner location all the way back in January 2024, when the Observer broke the news. Following the story over the intervening two-and-a-half years, the Observer reported this past January that Cook Out, along with a new Panda Express, was preparing to break ground.
The Moncks Corner location is under construction at 646 Rembert C Dennis Blvd, near the Food Lion, as of the Youtube posting by the Observer—and that was back in March. The video said construction was expected to reach completion in June, but no word is out yet about the construction being completed.
This location has faced some delays, but even so, the opening should be coming quite soon.
“‘Welcome to Cook Out, may I take your order please?’” begins a description of Cook Out’s history on the restaurant’s website. “It has been 25 years and counting since these words were first spoken. Cook Out originated in 1989 in Greensboro, NC.”
Cook Out’s capacious menu includes everything from Homemade Char-Grilled Hamburgers like the Old West Style (BBQ sauce, bacon, mayo, pickles, onion) to Homemaded Style Chicken Strips, to the BBQ Plate, to Chili Dogs, Quesadillas, and Cheese Fries. There’s also a broad selection of Fancy Milkshakes like Heath Toffer, Orange Push-Up, and Peach Cobbler. With a menu like this, Cook Out is sure to have something for everyone.
