A new Starbucks is coming to the Lowcountry.

Cornerstone Consulting Engineers & Design Services, Inc. announced on Facebook that the coffee giant is opening a new location in Bluffton.

“Cornerstone has been tasked with creating a comprehensive plan that includes exterior and interior design drawings, as well as detailed site plans,” the company shared.

Although Cornerstone did not disclose the exact address, The Island Packet reported in March that Starbucks submitted plans to occupy a space in the upcoming Washington Square development. The proposed site at 401 Bleecker St South is likely the locale in question.

Starbucks boasts nearly 40,000 stores worldwide and over 200 locations in South Carolina alone. The Seattle-based coffeehouse is known for its wide selection of hot and cold coffee beverages, light bites, and WiFi availability.

This will be the third standalone Starbucks in Bluffton and the sixth location overall, including stores inside Target and both Bluffton Krogers. Construction on the new site is expected to begin later this summer, with the cafe slated to open in the fall.

What Now Charleston has reached out to both Cornerstone and Starbucks representatives for location confirmation and will update this page accordingly.
