Clouds Brewing plans to open a new location in the space formerly occupied by Tobacco Road Sports Cafe at 505 W. Jones Street, with an opening expected in early July.

The brewery announced on social media that it acquired the assets and operations of the downtown property effective June 1, marking a return to downtown for the Raleigh-based craft beer brand. According to the announcement, current employees will remain with the business, and all previously booked private events and group reservations will be honored.

“We are very happy to be back in downtown Raleigh and working in this exceptional space,” the company shared in the post.

The company said it will continue making updates to the property in the coming weeks as preparations move forward ahead of the opening.

The venue was most recently home to Tobacco Road Sports Cafe, a longtime downtown establishment located near several of Raleigh’s major sports and entertainment destinations. The property features expansive indoor dining areas, multiple bars, and event spaces capable of hosting private gatherings and group functions.

According to the company’s website, Clouds Brewing was founded in 2014 and has grown to operate multiple locations throughout the Triangle. In addition to its house-brewed craft beer, the company serves a menu of elevated pub fare featuring items such as burgers, sandwiches, wings, salads, and shareable appetizers. The brand has built a reputation as a community gathering spot that combines craft beverages with a casual dining experience.

While details regarding potential renovations or menu changes have not yet been announced, the company indicated that additional updates will be shared as work progresses on the transition.

WhatNow Charlotte reached out to Clouds Brewing for additional details regarding the project but did not receive a response by the time of publication.
