OMB River View at Mount Holly, The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery’s new riverfront taproom, brauhaus, and biergarten, is targeting a late September opening at 725 Elm Street, according to reporting by the Charlotte Business Journal.
The more than $6 million project is moving forward after construction delays tied to fluctuating building costs. OMB CEO Jim Birch told the Charlotte Business Journal that foundations have been poured, landscaping is underway, and the building’s steel frame is expected to be erected soon.
According to the publication, the approximately 7,000-square-foot venue was designed to take advantage of its waterfront setting, with the property overlooking the confluence of the Catawba River and Dutchman’s Creek. He added that outdoor gathering spaces are expected to be a major draw for visitors.
The site will initially seat about 100 guests indoors and another 50 on the patio, with room for approximately 400 more throughout the biergarten.
Following the Mount Holly opening, OMB plans to develop a warehouse on nearby property with a targeted 2027 debut. The brewery is also continuing to advance plans for a Cornelius location tied to Northwood Ravin’s Greenway Gartens development, which Birch told the publication could open in 2029.
The Charlotte Business Journal reports that Gais Construction is serving as general contractor, while Redline Design Group and DPR Design are leading the architectural, civil engineering, and landscape design work.
WhatNow Charlotte reached out to The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery for comment but did not receive a response by the time of publication.
