Kindred is gearing up to open, according to a Craigslist Advertisement posted on November 22nd. The eatery is the work of local entrepreneur Thomas Trenta, who is launching two additional concepts alongside Kindred in the coming year. “We’re investing $1M to re-develop a giant downtown property into an upscale restaurant, modern bar and a banquet/concert hall with ambitions to become the most admired destination of the western suburbs,” reads the advertisement.

Described as an upscale restaurant featuring “curious creations from the modern Midwest,” Kindred will feature a 6-foot wood-burning hearth in its kitchen and serve open-fire dishes curated by an Executive Chef who was a “former leader inside the Ritz Carlton system.” The eatery will specialize in seasonal dishes that reach for a diversity of flavors.

Although not many details have been revealed about the concept, Patch reports Kindred will open inside the 24,000 square-foot property at 119 N. York Street in City Centre. The space is currently undergoing construction, which, among other things, will remove the 14-lane bowling alley on site.

The target date for Kindred, according to the Patch article from early September, is February 1st. We suggest you find Kindred on social media so you don’t miss any updates.
