A classic bar with brews, appetizers and sandwiches is heading back to downtown.
Old Town Pour House recently announced in a press release the team is taking over the former City Social space at 120 N LaSalle Street. The restaurant is now a chain and serves Oak Brook and Naperville. The team at Bottleneck Management which owns Old Town Pour House told What Now Chicago they are aiming for a mid-July opening.
The restaurant was originally at 1419 N Wells Street before closing in late 2024. It operated for 13 years and has become a popular option for beer lovers, with over 90 brews on tap. The owners followed the success of their Wells Street location by opening at Oakbrook Center in 2013 and in Naperville in 2016.
“The best craft beer bars in the U.S.,” says the description on their website.
For the LaSalle location, the owners will offer many of the same options as Oak Brook and Naperville, with gastropub items like Nashville hot chicken nachos, smash burgers, chicken tortilla soup and crispy wings. One of their popular dishes is the smoked cheddar mac and rigatoni. Along with the countless beers to choose from, the bar is also to offer house cocktails, a wine list and non-alcoholic beverages.
Old Town Pour House is moving in at the intersection of W Court Place, behind the Cadillac Palace Theater. Other dining options attached to the building include The Halal Guys and QDOBA. The space is 6,206 square feet and will be able to accommodate 285 guests inside and 36 outside.
Planned hours of operation are 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Friday. As it gets closer to the opening date, the Old Town Pour House team will be updating the community on oldtownpourhouse.com.
