According to a recent article from Chicago Eater, LOULOU will soon debut in Logan Square at 3057 W Logan Boulevard.

A representative of LOULOU was not immediately available to comment upon What Now Chicago’s request.

According to the article, LOULOU will likely open sometime in July. LOULOU comes from Lula Cafe and James Beard Award winner Jason Hammel alongside his wife, Amalea Tshilds. “Hammel and wife, Amalea Tshilds, have been searching for years for a space for their next project.”

“Tshilds calls it a salon; Hammel iterates that he doesn’t see LOULOU as a restaurant, at least in the traditional sense with a set menu. It will blend music (the performers will be curated by Tshilds, a singer and songwriter), literature, and food with special dinners.”

“Chefs who have authored books might want to host special events on their book tours at the venue. The food will be thoughtful, taking into account the author or musician. Hammel says he also wants to harness the spirit of the alternative economy, an industry — including pop-ups — that prospered in 2020 with restaurant workers looking for ways to support themselves as the pandemic closed dining rooms across the country.”
