Naperville is getting a new spot for fresh shawarma and Mediterranean-inspired eats as Shawarma Stop prepares to open its newest location.
The restaurant is taking over the former Kong Dog space at 1292 Rickert Drive, with the new location expected to open in October, according to The Daily Herald.
Shawarma Stop currently has locations in Schaumburg and Buffalo Grove, while the new restaurant in Naperville would become the third one in the expanding company.
The concept centers on shawarma, with customers able to grab the seasoned meat in wraps and other casual dishes. On the restaurant’s social media it shows off its shawarma, sandwiches and other Middle Eastern-inspired offerings, giving a look at what customers can expect when the Naperville location opens.
The business is owned by Uluk Kadyraliev from Kyrgyzstan who arrived in the US in 2010 and later on succeeded in establishing himself in the hospitality business. He started his career as a dishwasher before becoming a successful restaurateur at Shawarma Stop. Kadyraliev opened his first Shawarma Stop in Schaumburg in 2025.
The Naperville location will give customers another option for a quick meal in the Rickert Drive area, while expanding Shawarma Stop’s presence beyond its existing locations
