Dunkin’ is continuing its steady expansion across Central Ohio, with another new location planned for Columbus’ south side.

According to the Columbus Business First, the Massachusetts-based fast-food coffee chain can be found at 3444 S High St on East Main Street near Reynoldsburg.

The latest drive-thru addition is owned by Cincinnati-based franchisee Gilligan Oil Co., with Dunkin’ set to occupy the existing 2,300-square-foot building, and the site has seen several tenants over the years.

Most recently, it was home to the city’s only Hardee’s location, which opened in 2018 before closing last year. Before that, the property was occupied for nearly two decades by Ohio Deli, a local restaurant that gained national attention after being featured on Man vs. Food before a fire forced its closure in 2014. The site was later redeveloped for Hardee’s.

Even earlier, the corner housed a Sisters Chicken & Biscuits location, a fried chicken concept briefly operated by Wendy’s in the 1980s. Plans indicate Dunkin’ will retain the existing structure and adapt it for the brand’s use.

The South High Street location is one of at least two new Dunkin’ stores currently in development for Gilligan Oil, which has been actively expanding its footprint in recent years with new openings in Whitehall, Westerville, and near Grandview Heights.

Gilligan Oil is one of two Dunkin’ franchisees operating in the Columbus market and also operates Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen locations in the region.
