Colorado Springs will be home to the next Shake Shack! The fast causal American joint appears to be close to opening, recently applying for a liquor license for its new establishment at 9723 Federal Dr.

Records for the city show that the application is ready for review, and that the location will be Shake Shack #1438. The brand did not comment on when the doors will open for business.

The Gazette reported in January the construction had begun on the project. Data from Marcus & Millichap shows that the company has a 15.5-year lease for the 3,288-square-foot space. The building has a double drive-thru and is next to Scheels, a popular sporting goods retailer that sees 1.84 million patrons each year.

The development is in a burgeoning part of town, right off Interstate 25 on Interquest Parkway and near the Air Force Academy. It’s in the northern part of Colorado Springs, in the Northgate neighborhood.
