A former military building in Denver’s Lowry neighborhood will house an upscale indoor golf venue. A local group of investors plans to launch The Hangar Club in the space in the heart of the former Lowry Air Force base at 7600 E. 1st Place with a targeted opening date of the first quarter of 2023.
The Hangar Club will include 10 individual TrackMan simulators featuring iconic golf courses, a 750-square-foot interactive putting green by PuttView, and a central bar for craft cocktails, beer, wine, and appetizers with service to each simulator. Guests can watch sporting events or work in multiple lounge areas, and private conference rooms and event space will be available.
The 22,000-square-foot repurposed hangar-like structure was built in 1942 and features vast amounts of natural light and open space. “The building is an iconic structure dating back to World War II and its uniqueness provides the perfect opportunity to align social, golf and community to create and bring to Lowry and the surrounding neighborhoods an upscale indoor golf entertainment facility,” said Daren B. Schmidt, co-founder of The Hangar Club and veteran real estate developer.
“With golf’s resurgence and the remote, work-from-anywhere movement, The Hangar Club will combine an indoor golf experience that is second-to-none with private event space, seamlessly integrating work and play,” Schmidt continued in a press release.
The facility’s golf component will extend beyond just recreational use. Professional lessons, leagues, club fittings, manufacturer demo days, and space for high school and college golf teams to practice will also be offered.
