The city’s historic restaurant and bar district is getting a new addition.

The team at Big O Burgers has plans for a new concept called Big O Hot Chicken, coming to 118 N Michigan Avenue. Liquid Lounge and Kitchen at the space closed last year, and at some point a full bar will also be installed inside. As of now, there is no opening date.

Owner Omar Linder opened his first Big O Burgers location in 2019 at 4072 Bay Road in Saginaw. From there, he expanded to Midland at 1900 S Saginaw, and he has had the idea of debuting a chicken spot for a few years. What Now Detroit has reached out to Linder and is awaiting comment.

From their Facebook page, the concept will be serving glizzys along with the fried chicken dishes. These include The Miggy with Detroit chili sauce, yellow mustard and diced onions, and the Mac Daddy Dog with creamy mac and cheese, crispy bacon and cheese sauce. Smash burgers, loaded fries, and frozen lemonades will also be on the menu.

“Get ready for late-night eats, great food, and a new spot to kick it with friends and family,” says a recent post from Big O Hot Chicken.

Big O Hot Chicken is coming to the intersection of N Michigan Avenue and Hancock Street, next to Oracle Brewing Company. Artisan Urban Bistro is also in the building. Saginaw’s Old Town District is a couple miles south of the city’s downtown along the river.

In a report from channel WNEM, Linder said he will announce an opening date soon, but he needs to go through the inspection processes. The date will be posted to the business’s Facebook page.
