According to recent reporting in The Business Journal, a local establishment will soon repurpose and debut under as a different operation.
A recent press release states that 1937 Spirits & Eatery at 1842 Kings Ave. will transition from a full-service restaurant into a “premier event space designed to create an inviting space for live music, culinary pop-ups and private gatherings.”
“After years of serving our community, 1937 the restaurant is closing its doors. But this isn’t goodbye – it’s a new beginning,” its website, which has changed to 1937 Events & Venue, states.
The restaurant, which became known for its fresh ingredients and carefully mixed craft cocktails, opened in April 2023 after renovating the 1937 Wimpee Fuel Oil building.
“We are thrilled to bring a fresh vision to 1937 by transforming it into a hub for culture, music, and exceptional dining experiences,” said Dan Altman, local Orange Blossoms & Jax Beach Brunch Haus owner and operator. “With our new creative partnerships and event-focused approach, we’re excited to offer a venue where innovation thrives.”
The Journal reports that 1937 Events Venue will host local and regional musicians through ticketed events, a press release states. It will also have pop-up chef showcases and private event rentals and catering, serving as a venue for weddings, corporate gatherings and celebrations.
