A new bar is opening in the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian that will specialize in cantaritos, a tequila-based Mexican cocktail made with orange juice, lemon juice, and lime juice and served in a distinctive clay cup. Casa de Cantaritos will open in suite 2145 at the resort’s address, 3377 Las Blvd S, according to licensing paperwork submitted to Clark County.

“The concept is out of Mexico. It’s all handmade fresh ingredients, the whole cantaritos experience,” owner Matt Pinal told What Now on Thursday.

Those familiar with the cantarito wil know that a big part of the experience is watching the drink be made for you at your seat—the sort of experience you don’t have quite so much anymore in Vegas.

“It’s all about the experience of making it. You make a gallon, three gallons, five gallons—all right in front of people, capitalizing on that interactive experience. It’s kind of old-school Vegas, where people would make drinks right in front of you. We’re bringing that energy to it.”

Pinal says there will be a menu of light a-la-carte bites like chips and salsa, guacamole, and tacos—all served up alongside the cantaritos experience.

The Casa de Cantaritos space will seat about 75 guests, with decor characterized by authentic Mexican artwork, Pinal said.
