French Riviera (La Tropézienne) Bakery to Open a Third Location

French Riviera (La Tropézienne) Bakery is set to turn up the heat in Downtown Las Vegas with a hot new opening. According to a City of Las Vegas permit, the French Riviera is expected to open at 401 S 6th St.

Owners Gladys and Franck Khalifa confirmed the opening in a conversation with What Now Las Vegas. The plan is to open by this summer.

“We are very excited to welcome our first guests and introduce this new experience to the community,” the Khalifa said in an email.

“Our goal is to offer a refined yet accessible culinary experience inspired by French craftsmanship and hospitality. Every detail matters to us — from the quality of the products to the service and the atmosphere — all designed to create a warm, modern, and memorable experience for our guests.”

Its companion Vegas Valley shop sits on Cimmarron. There’s also a location in Henderson.

“The French Riviera Bakery is a lot more more than just another French bakery in Henderson & Las Vegas,” The French Riviera website reads.

“Sure, we want our clients to experience the best of what French baking has to offer. But we also worked to bring the American culture into our French pastries. Cinnamon Rolls, cream-filled Croissants, Kit Kat Chocolate Croissants, Pistachio Rolls, and many other unique & innovative desserts are waiting for you!”

The space where the new bakery will live was once home to the famous French eatery,  André’s. In 1980, legendary chef André Rochat opened the eatery. It became a cornerstone of the Vegas culinary scene before closing on New Year’s Eve in 2008.

Now, in its own way, the French Riviera (La Tropézienne) Bakery is reviving the old feelings associated with the space, bringing authentic sweet treats and eats to the area.

“We will offer a selection of French classics and signature creations,” the owners shared.

“Guests can expect fresh viennoiseries, artisanal pastries, crêpes, sandwiches prepared daily, high-quality coffee, and dishes inspired by French cuisine. Everything is designed to balance authenticity, quality, and pleasure.”

From savory selections like the Lorraine Quiche to sweet best sellers like the Crepe Vanilla Berry, the French Riviera has something to tickle everyone’s French fancy. The Bakery is even of service for special occasions.

“Whether you need a cake for a birthday party, a wedding, or any other celebration, whether you want Vegan or Kosher cakes, our chefs can help you get exactly what you have in mind. Flavors will be unmatched with any other cake shop in town, we guarantee the satisfaction of our clients,” the French Riviera website reads.

The owners are planning a huge grand opening for the Downtown location.

“We are planning a grand opening that reflects the spirit of the French Riviera — welcoming, festive, and memorable. It will be a great opportunity to introduce the brand to the local community and celebrate this new chapter with our guests,” the Khalifas said.
