Le Umu is embarking on a new opening. The authentic Samoan eatery may have closed its Silverado Ranch location, but the brand is now opening a new location. According to a City of Las Vegas permit, Le Umu is slated to open in Charleston Heights inside the Charleston West Plaza at 5181 W Charleston Blvd 120.

Le Umu announced the lease signage for the space last week via an Instagram post on the eatery’s Instagram page. Another post shows that construction is underway and slated for completion soon, with a summer opening in mind.

“We are so excited and grateful that all the work from the next suite’s fire is complete,” the Instagram post announcing the lease signage reads.

“I signed my life away and now ready to make this space our Le Umu “One Stop” experience for our Le Umu Village and Las Vegas Polynesian community. 🙌🙌🔥🔥. Stay tuned for Grand Opening details to be announced soon.”

Le Umu has not only gained a ton of support from the Las Vegas Polynesian community but has also supported the community and beyond in many ways. The restaurant was chosen to represent Samoa at an official Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Night Market at the Vice President’s residence in Washington, D.C.

What Now Las Vegas reached out to Le Umu owner Ferina Pelupelu to find out more details about the exciting new development. Peluelu confirmed the upcoming opening, but was unable to share more details by the time of this publication.

The restaurant first debuted in Las Vegas in the early 2000s. In 2020, Pelupelu and her husband revived the concept, preparing pre-ordered plate lunches out of a commissary kitchen. After operating in North Las Vegas, the family moved and leased the larger space on West Charleston Boulevard to create a one-stop village experience for the Polynesian community.

Known for offering a variety of traditional Polynesian dishes like Laua PisupoLamb Curry, and more, Le Umu has continued to garner love, even hopping on wheels to serve the community as a food truck.

It is fair to say that many in the Valley will be happy to see Le Umu up and running soon.
