Velocity Esports will soon be known as Velocity Vegas. The Town Square family entertainment venue at 6587 S Las Vegas Blvd #171 recently experienced a change of ownership, and with a new owner comes more than one change. Beyond a new name, you can expect some new experiences at the premier entertainment destination.
Illusions Attractions, the company behind Dinosaur Outpost, has already closed the deal. Founder Tim Clothier led the purchase, marking a new chapter for the venue under new ownership.
“We’ll be rebranding to Velocity Vegas and moving to a larger experience for families. We believe in connection, action, and fun for families and groups to spend time together and play, compete, and eat in a venue with some upcoming surprises,” Clothier said in an interview with What Now Las Vegas.
“We are in transition throughout the summer – new experiences will roll out towards the end of summer/ winter Christmas.”
Clothier has been involved in the business at Town Square for some time, as he created and owns Dinosaur Outpost, which is an interactive attraction aimed at families and younger children, also at Town Square.
“The previous owners had decided to sell Velocity Esports when the parent company filed for Bankruptcy – I was fortunate to be able to purchase the business so we can develop into something more exciting than before while maintaining the family fun location that Town Square is known for,” Clothier said via email.
“I’ve been in Vegas for 25 years, as a dad and a local, Town Square felt like the right location that was close enough to strip action to support multi-entertainment offerings, but also removed from the tourism corridor ‘just enough’ to be a great place for locals’ families to come to.”
The multi-attraction family entertainment venue invites guests to play together, compete, and make some fun discoveries. The space is perfect to celebrate events and birthdays. The venue includes a large arcade, boutique bowling alley, esports ‘gamer’ lounge, large event spaces, and a bar and restaurant.
“The bowling alley is fantastic for a group night out, and just 8 lanes make the experience intimate. The arcade features over 120 games, plus once you’ve played as much as you can, there are some wonderful food offerings and even a bar for the parents,” Clothier said.
“We’ll have new in-venue experiences rolling out over the next couple of years in a staged approach. The company overall is also working with venues outside of Vegas for both the Dinosaur Outpost brand and the Velocity brand expansions.”
Some big plans are in place for the venue. But Clothier didn’t want to give any secrets away just yet. So keep your eyes open and your ears perked all summer for the latest on this exciting new change to come to Town Square. Check back with the brand’s social media pages for the latest.
“Velocity is a wonderful venue in a great location for locals in Vegas. I’m excited to develop and expand the offerings as we grow the business,” Clothier said.
“I’m a Dad and local. My theory has always been to try to create the places I’d want to take my son and my wife to for a great time out. It is so easy for us to get stuck in the routine of daily life that finding time to bond with family is so important. I really hope to create spaces, including Velocity, that act as a venue or catalyst for families to get away from it all and connect together.”
Velocity Esports will be Velocity Vegas soon, as the ownership change is already done. But you can expect changes at Velocity Vegas in Town Square at 6587 S Las Vegas Blvd #171 by this summer.
