Fast-growth Japanese franchise Gyu-Kaku is coming soon to DTLA’s Financial District.

The restaurant chain, which specializes in Yakiniku (patrons grill their own meats), is set to replace B.S. Taqueria, at 514 W. 7th Street.

B.S. Taqueria closed its doors in April 2019.

Gyu-Kaku would be open from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily and offer both indoor and outdoor seating across its 4,614-square-foot interior and nearly 1,800-square-foot rear patio.

An opening timeline has not yet been set but a consultant for the restaurant last week filed a liquor license application for the planned Gyu-Kaku.

Santa Monica later this year could also get a location of the Japanese restaurant, according to the company’s website.

Aside from listing a Santa Monica outpost as “coming soon,” details, including the exact location, have not yet been disclosed.

Gyu-Kaku is continuing its expansion nationwide.

The company recently debuted an outpost in Atlanta and has 55 locations and counting.
