Republik Coffee Lounge, a cafe and wine bar helmed by Nader Kaiser, is opening its second location later this summer at 231 North San Fernando Boulevard in Burbank. The incoming sister store will join establishments like Boba Time, Gourmet 88 Mandarin Cuisine, and Finney’s Crafthouse.

Originally opened on Pasadena’s Green Street, Republik Coffee Lounge is considered a “hip, convivial cafe and wine bar serving baked goods, hearty brunch fare, and specialty coffee.” The menu boasts an array of gourmet toasts, quiches, sandwiches, salads, and even vegan options like black coconut chia pudding.

Additionally, Republik whips up a well-considered dinner — cheese boards, flatbreads, desserts — that can be paired with a short list of quality beers and wines.

Alongside Gustavo Landgrebe of Tasca Wine Bar and 1810 Restaurant, Kaiser also founded Pasadena’s Marina Italian restaurant on Cordova Street. The food-forward eatery aptly showcases Kaiser’s love of high-quality yet uncomplicated fare, as further evidenced in Republik’s offerings.

“Coffee is a sacred daily ritual, and Republik Coffee elevates that ritual into a grand experience,” explains the growing establishment’s website. “Each element of the menu has been carefully selected in appreciation of all of life’s little moments, emphasizing Republik’s motto, ‘life is too short to drink bad coffee.’”
