Altadena’s Unincorporated Coffee Roasters is opening a new location in Burbank, located at 4017 Riverside Dr. Unit C.
The second location will move into the former home of pizza shop Gourmet Romano at an unknown date. Co-owner Arthur Sohrabian declined to answer any questions from What Now Los Angeles. He and Alan Janoyan started brewing coffee together from Janoyan’s garage after developing a passion for coffee and how it brings people together. Together they created the slogan “sexy fresh coffee,” a way to remind customers that each cup is made to order. Their other motto, “coffee for friends,” is a reminder to make connections while in the shop.
The new coffee shop, which recently applied for a liquor license, will move into the corner of Riverside Drive and North Pass Avenue, along a busy stretch of restaurants and retailers that include a Reno’s Pizzeria, Yakmi Sushi, and Don Cuco Mexican. When the new Unincorporated Coffee Roasters opens in Burbank, fierce competition will be nearby, including Priscilla’s Gourmet Coffee, Lou, The Fresh On The Block, and two Starbucks. One way the company hopes to sway customers their way, other than their delicious, customizable coffee blends, is by helping local artists through the Unincorporated Mural Project.
“The Unincorporated Mural Project is an ongoing effort to support art in our neighborhoods,” according to their website. “In partnership with Victor Ving from Greetings Tour, we’ll be curating a mural gallery at our Altadena location. A new Artist every year! Grant provided by UCR toward project annually.”
