El Palacio de los Jugos, the much-loved Miami juice stand, is opening up a location in North Miami.

The restaurant, under Palacio de los Jugos #15 LLC, just filed permit applications with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation to open a juice stand and restaurant at 12500 Biscayne Boulevard — right at one of north Miami-Dade’s busiest intersections. The Palacio de los Jugos website confirms the news, simply adding, “coming soon“. No further opening information is available.

In 1977 Apolonia Bermudez opened El Palacio de los Jugos as a way to recreate the beloved fruit and batido stands of Cuba. The original ventanita on Flagler and 57th Street served fresh-squeezed juices, batidos, and chicharrones. Now led by her son Reinaldo, Palacio de los Jugos has become a fixture of Miami food culture with both locals and visitors flocking to enjoy a meal from one of its locations with the bright red and yellow banners.

That one little fruit stand has grown to more than a dozen locations and serves much more than fruit juices. Palacio de los Jugos also offers a full range of hot and cold menu items from sandwiches to ropa vieja and vaca frita.
