After more than two decades in downtown Hollywood, Chocolada Bakery & Café has entered a new chapter.

The longtime European-style café, located at 1926 Hollywood Boulevard in the heart of the city’s downtown area, has changed ownership. According to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, the business has been purchased by Catering by JAC LLC, which has the same ownership as neighboring restaurant, The Greek Joint.

Local Facebook Page, Hollywood Beach TV, offers some clarity, stating, “Chocolada Bakery & Cafe in Downtown Hollywood has changed ownership as of July 2026 but still serve the same desserts and cakes. The European-style cafe had been operating in the heart of Downtown Hollywood since 2004. The business struggled heavily in recent years with ongoing city construction, road blocks, and reduced pedestrian foot traffic. Local commercial vacancy rates have also hit several long-standing storefronts along Hollywood Blvd.”

For years, Chocolada has been known for its European pastries, custom cakes, coffees and casual café fare, attracting both neighborhood regulars and visitors to the city’s historic downtown district.  The ownership transition comes after several challenging years for businesses along Hollywood Boulevard. The change represents a fresh start for one of downtown Hollywood’s longest-running cafés, allowing a familiar neighborhood favorite to continue serving residents and visitors under local ownership while preserving the recipes and desserts that built its reputation over the past two decades.
