Established in 2008 and reimagined in 2023,” Sushi Tokyo is a New York-based sushi brand with locations in boroughs like Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens. With a current total of five locations, the sushi brand is now planning to make the trek down to South Florida—a continuing trend for New York concepts in recent years.

According to recently filed plan review paperwork, the new location will open in Surfside, at 9472 Harding Ave.

What Now confirmed the news on Friday with co-owner Schneur Borenstein. Borenstein said the Surfside location is still in the planning/permitting phase and that it’s too early to comment share more details. What Now will be awaiting more information.

For the moment, we can still take a glance at the menu: In Brooklyn, Sushi Tokyo’s sushi rolls include the Naruto Roll (Steamed salmon, avocado, portabella, crunch, wrapped with cucumber, & drizzled with sweet sauce [no rice]), the Leo Roll (Spicy tuna, spicy kani, crunch, layered with avocado, topped with fried onion, & drizzled with spicy mayo), and the Shtikkirikki Roll (Tempura salmon, crispy salmon skin, fried onion, layered with avocado, spicy kani, & drizzled with sweet sauce).
