Ramblin’ Joe’s franchisees Austin and Caroline Cox are taking their first steps toward bringing the brand to the Nashville community.
Earlier this month, Ramblin’ Joe’s announced that they inked a five-unit deal for the Nashville market.
Austin and Caroline were drawn to the brand after incorporating regular visits to the Ramblin’ Joe’s corporate location in The Nations into their morning routine. When they learned that the Memphis-based coffee brand wanted to expand and franchise, they wanted to get involved.
“We started having conversations and it kind of just aligned and fell into our lap that way,” Caroline said. “It was our neighborhood visit every morning. And it made sense — we knew the employees and we knew the people who were there every morning with us.”
Austin said they were drawn to both the quick-service and cafe dynamics of the brand. Customers can sit down and enjoy handcrafted coffee beverages, or they can take drinks to go without sacrificing the quality.
“It was the ability to provide cafe-quality coffee and the quick-service part too,” Austin said. “If you can’t come in and sit down everyday, you can swing by and grab a coffee. I just think it’s a great product.”
Austin and Caroline have now taken over the location at 5307 Centennial Blvd. in The Nations, which was formerly a corporate-owned spot. They said it will act as their “home base” as they continue to expand.
Now, they are in the process of searching for new locations. They said they have one potential location in the works already, though they could not share further details at this time.
“Now that we have everything running smoothly at the first location, we’re ready to get our boots on the ground and get the second one going,” Caroline said.
They hope to give back to the community through participating in local events and nonprofits as they move forward.
“We’re entrepreneurs and this was a nice fit,” Austin said. “We love coffee, and we have the capability to pour a lot back in our neighborhoods and community.”
