Nashville-based Thai restaurant Degthai is preparing to open a new location at 750 West Main Street in Hendersonville later this summer, according to reporting by the Hendersonville Standard.
Owner Jay Jenratha told the publication that the restaurant is nearing the finish line and is currently awaiting final permit approvals before opening its doors. The new Hendersonville outpost will occupy the former Trattoria La Caverna space and will feature expanded outdoor seating.
Degthai first launched as a food truck in Nashville in 2011 before transitioning to a brick-and-mortar restaurant in 2020. Since then, the concept has built a strong local following for its Thai street food-inspired menu.
“My goal is to create a welcoming neighborhood restaurant where families and friends can come to enjoy authentic Thai street food,” Jenratha told the Hendersonville Standard.
The restaurant’s Nashville menu features dishes such as pad thai, red and green curry, Kra Prao – Kai Dao, crispy spring rolls, street dumplings, Thai iced tea and coffee, among other offerings.
According to the Hendersonville Standard, Jenratha said community response to the upcoming location has been encouraging, with many residents expressing excitement about the restaurant’s arrival.
Degthai has also received national and local recognition in recent years, earning a spot on Yelp’s 2026 Top 100 U.S. Restaurants list and being named Best Thai in the 2025 Best of Nashville awards by the Nashville Scene.
While an exact opening date has not yet been announced, Jenratha told the Hendersonville Standard that construction is complete and the restaurant is targeting a late-summer debut pending final approvals.
