Turkey and the Wolf, a New Orleans-based sandwich concept that was a James Beard semifinalist, is bringing its creative flair to East Nashville, located at 800 Meridian St.

The company’s newest location, which will be called Turkey & The Wolf Ice House, is set to open at the corner of Hancock and Meridian, according to the company’s Instagram announcement. This is a massive accomplishment for owner Mason Hereford, who first opened in 2017. Hereford tells What Now Nashville that this site will open mid-to-late February 2025. When it opens, customers can expect stack sandwiches made with top-tier ingredients.

“It’s’ official: turkey and the Wolf is headed to Nashville and opening ‘Turkey & The Wolf Ice House’ in east Nashville on the corner of Hancock and Meridian in a little cinderblock shack on a big grassy lot with a nice big tree,” according to the company’s announcement. “Hot sandwiches, frozen drinks, cold beer, and pebble ice, all outside. We can’t wait to feed you! See ya in Nashville!”

While expanding to a second location in a different city is an achievement, several national publications have recognized Turkey & The Wolf. When the restaurant opened, Bon Appetit ranked it the best new restaurant, while Food & Wine Magazine ranked the Irish Channel neighborhood eatery as one of the most important restaurants of the decade. Since then, the company has navigated the pandemic and is now ready to expand for the first time.
