VN Pho & Deli, located at 5906 Charlotte Pike in West Nashville, will be relocating to a new 8,100-square-foot building under construction in Mt. Juliet.
The Luu family has been operating their family-owned business in West Nashville since 2012. Now, the family is constructing a commercial building on the west side of North Mt. Juliet Road that will house four retail spaces, one of which will be for the restaurant.
The building will be near Houston’s Meat and Produce.
“We came across some land so we bought it, held onto it and saved up,” Nam Luu told What Now Nashville. “And here we are breaking ground.”
Luu’s parents immigrated to Nashville in the late 1980s. He and his siblings, as well as his parents, are all involved in running VN Pho & Deli. The spot serves items like pho, vermicelli pork and egg rolls, banh mi and soup dishes.
They wanted to relocate to Mt. Juliet because his parents moved to that area in 2019, so once construction is complete and the restaurant moves, they will be able to work closer to home.
The new build will also offer an opportunity for the Luu family to move into a bigger space and revamp the interior design.
“We’re going to try to make it a really nice space,” Luu said. “It’s very simple where we are now. In the future we plan to have nice floors, nice walls, nice decor — the whole nine yards, as much as we can.”
For now, VN Pho & Deli will remain at the current location in West Nashville as it awaits completion on the Mt. Juliet project. The new location is expected to open in 2026 after construction is complete.
“It’s been a journey and we’re very excited to open up in Mt. Juliet and to be the owner of our building and be close to home,” Luu said. “We feel that our hard work is paying off and we feel very blessed and fortunate and grateful.”
