Asian-style cafes have become increasingly popular across the United States, and in Louisiana, there has been an increase in the number of cafes with a Vietnamese influence. One of the newest such cafes will be Phin de Louisiane in Lafayette Parish, which grew out of a pop-up called Katie’s Brewhouse.

Located in a plaza in Youngsville, Phin de Louisiane will specialize in traditional “phin” coffee made with a Vietnamese slow-brew technique. That coffee will be used to make a range of Asian-inspired coffee drinks, including a Vietnamese iced coffee (Cà phê sữa đá) and Saigon Ube Latte. At pop-up events in the area, the café has also been serving matcha drinks and Thai-style iced tea. According to Developing Lafayette, the café is under construction and slated to open this fall.
