The pioneer pot-infused pizza brand, Stoned Gourmet Cannabis Pizza, is opening up a new slice shop concept called Eighths at 240 E 4th Street in the East Village soon.

Eighths – a nod to the most popular quantity to purchase the THC-plant  – will feature all cannabis-infused items from $10 slices to garlic-ganja knots, wings and gelato. Founder and owner Chris Barrett recommends ordering only one to three based on your tolerance, and you must be 21 or older to purchase. It will be housed in the space formerly occupied by another pizzeria, Johnny Favorite’s, with anticipated hours of operation of 4 p.m. to midnight from Thursday through Sunday.

It will be a first-come-first-serve, walk-up concept. Barrett told EVGrieve that he plans to open a few more slice shops in the future, with locations already open in the Bronx and Brooklyn.

Barrett, who calls himself the PizzaPusha, started experimenting with ganja-jacked fare back in 2015-2016 in California. By 2017, he opened a pickup and delivery service in Hell’s Kitchen, which served as launching pad for his novel weed-infused food brand concept.
