Spicy Moon East Village has temporarily closed while it undergoes renovations.
What Now NY reached out to managing member June Kwan, but did not immediately hear back with details about the renovations.
According to Eater NY, Kwan is also an owner of Han Dynasty which has 10 locations, four of which are in the New York area.
This location of Spicy Moon recently applied for a new license to serve beer, wine & cider that is set to be reviewed at an upcoming Community Board 3 meeting. No other details about changes to the menu or modifications to the space have been shared at this time.
Spicy Moon specializes in serving vegan cuisine, and its location at 265 Bowery is the biggest vegan restaurant in the city. Some of the most popular dishes include dry pepper style tofu, Dan Dan noodle, vegetable lo mein and scallion pancakes. The plant-based food offerings are quite extensive and the menu features a selection of gluten-free options as well.
Per a post on their Instagram page, the East Village location has been closed since late July and will reopen on August 12. In the meantime Spicy Moon Bowery and West Village are still open.
