723 Manhattan Avenue has lived many lives in its 103-year existence. In the 1920’s, flashing lights illuminated the Meserole Theater’s marquee. A little over 50 years later, the space was converted into the Greenpoint Roller Palace. More recently, the space has been a discount store and Rite Aid. The building has been closed off since 2020, but now signs have popped up on the outside indicating plans for a new Sweetgreen outpost.

Greenpointers reported on the signage a few days ago.

According to Sweetgreen’s website there are 20 locations of Sweetgreen currently open in the NYC area.

No word on when this location is slated to open.
