An upscale waterfront restaurant in North Myrtle Beach is preparing to close its doors permanently. Greg Norman Australian Grille will shut down its operations in October, after 27 years of service. The restaurant team cited financial challenges as the reason for its closure.
Greg Norman Australian Grille is Closing
The restaurant is a prime waterfront steakhouse and is located at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach. The restaurant was founded in 1999. It offers a combination of American steakhouse dishes and Australian cuisine.
With a wood-fired grill and Aussie specialties, the restaurant pairs a wide variety of wine and spirits selections. It has a spacious dining room and a full-service bar for a perfect relaxed dining experience. However, the main attraction of the restaurant is the waterfront patio that has a dimly lit, open-air outdoor terrace with waterfront scenery.
The team behind the restaurant shared the closure news with an official announcement on its website. The announcement stated that Greg Norman Australian Grille at 4930 US-17 S, North Myrtle Beach, will shut its doors on October 15, 2026.
The team thanked the community for 27 years of support and wrote, “We hope to see you one last time before we close.”
Reason Behind Closure
In the announcement, the team explained that the economic strain of operating a premium food and beverage restaurant was very difficult to sustain, especially in the current restaurant industry.
“This was not a decision we made lightly, but one that reflects the current business landscape rather than any lack of love for this community,” mentioned the team.
The team confirmed that all outstanding purchased gift cards will be honored at full value until their final service date. The restaurant team also noted that customers can request refunds for e-gift cards by emailing photos to the registered email address by October 10, 2026.
As the Greg Norman Australian Grille enters its last chapter, it hopes to celebrate with the community.
