Ironworx LLC has officially commenced bankruptcy proceedings. The company operates under the name Magnum Steel Works and is based in Mount Vernon, Illinois.

Court records have not specified the reasons that could have led to the filing. The company will continue operating under Chapter 11 proceedings unless otherwise ordered by the court.

Ironworx LLC Files for Chapter 11

Case records, as available on the PACER database, show that the company submitted its petition on July 30, 2026. Authorized representative, Kenneth Harrison, signed the petition before it was filed.

The filing comes as some metal manufacturers have faced increased costs and market pressures. According to Coface, U.S. import tariffs on steel and aluminum increased to 50% in June 2025, contributing to higher input costs for manufacturers.

As of June 2025, U.S. Midwest steel prices had increased 20% since the start of the year, while Midwest aluminum premiums were up 65%. Coface added that the higher domestic metal prices could raise costs for manufacturers relying on steel and aluminum as production inputs.

About the Company

Court records show that Ironworx LLC is doing business as Magnum Steel Works. The company, founded in 2005, produces large and complex fabricated metal components for industrial customers. It also builds repair parts for local companies.

Offerings include heavy fabrication, MIG and TIG welding, CNC and manual machining, waterjet cutting, equipment rebuilds, vacuum chamber fabrication, and reverse engineering.

On April 30, 2026, an industrial manufacturing company from Houston filed for bankruptcy. Court filings showed that Unity Fabrication, LLC had listed around $2.5 million in debts. Unity Fabrication, LLC operates a turnkey company that offers contract manufacturing services.
