Magellan Aerospace, Middletown, Inc., a U.S. subsidiary of Canada’s Magellan Aerospace Corporation, filed for bankruptcy. The filing applies only to the Ohio subsidiary. The Canadian parent company is expected to continue operating normally during the restructuring.

Case records, as available on the PACER database, show that Magellan Aerospace, Middletown, Inc. submitted a Chapter 11 petition on July 22, 2026. Michael I. Goldberg, listed as the company’s Independent Director, signed the petition prior to filing.

The records add that attorney Schuyler G. Carroll of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP is the legal counsel for the company, according to Stretto case website.

According to court filings, Magellan Aerospace, Middletown, Inc.’s Board of Directors approved a resolution on July 21 authorizing the company to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The board evaluated different options for addressing the company’s financial troubles and decided that the filing was in the best interests of the business, its creditors, employees, and other stakeholders.

The resolution also authorized the company to retain restructuring professionals. These included Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP and FBT Gibbons LLP as the legal counsel, Rock Creek Advisors, LLC as the financial advisor, and Stretto, Inc. as the claims and noticing agent.

In addition, independent director Michael I. Goldberg was granted authority to oversee the Chapter 11 process and negotiate debtor-in-possession (DIP) financing. The board said the financing would support the manufacturing company’s ongoing operations, while Goldberg will also review any related-party transactions during the proceedings.

Court records show that the company currently has between 100 and 199 creditors. The ones with the largest unsecured claims, as shown in the petition, are The Reynolds Group, Mound Manufacturing Center, Inc., CT Security Services, and others.

The petition states that funds will be available for distribution to unsecured creditors.
