Fox Restaurant Concepts’ popular gastropub Culinary Dropout is preparing to continue expanding its California footprint after the launch of its first location in the state this week. San Diego Magazine announced the company is working on a location in Old Towne Orange at 191 N Orange Street.

City records confirm there is a conditional use permit that is in progress for the project, requesting approval for a liquor license for the establishment. It was filed by Leezie Kim, Chief Legal Officer at Fox Restaurant Concepts, the parent company for Culinary Dropout. Fox operates under the Cheesecake Factory umbrella of brands.

The brand told What Now OC they “haven’t started sharing details surrounding Orange County yet” when asked for more information about the upcoming eatery. However, signs of progress are visible, with job postings showing the company is actively hiring for a sous chef position.

Leasing documents from Retail Insite show the restaurant will join Love & Lace Bridal Salon on the ground floor of the multi-level mixed-use building, located just south of Chapman University. The second floor of the building remains available for lease, offering over 7,200 square feet of creative office or retail space.
