Under new ownership, the former Last Name Brewing in Upland has rebranded. According to The Daily Bulletin, the business, located at 2120 Porterfield Way, is now known as Mt. Baldy Brewery.
Last year, the brewery’s owners posted on social media that it was time to sell. Brothers Curt and Andy Dale started the company in 2003 — originally first called Dale Bros. Brewing.
“If you haven’t already heard, we have decided to put Last Name Brewing up for sale,” the post reads. “The goal is to find a buyer who shares the same love for craft beer that we have… “I hope this is a handoff or, even better, an evolution that thrives in the current craft beer marketplace.”
That buyer is the Ellingson family, longtime owners of Mount Baldy Lodge, who acquired the business in October and engaged in the name change. SB Sun reports that Robbie Ellingson, GM of Mt. Baldy Ski Lifts, and his siblings now run the joint.
Robbie told What Now OC, “The brewery is more than just a place to enjoy a good beer. It’s a portal to the great outdoors, a reminder of the dual experiences our unique location offers – the ocean and the mountains in one panoramic vista,” he said.
