A new Japanese Cuisine restaurant is set to arrive in Newport Beach as Kaiya prepares to debut inside the Lido House, at 3300 Newport Blvd. The intimate, 12-seat concept will open within the boutique hotel, adding another destination to Orange County’s expanding high-end sushi concepts, in July, according to The Orange County Register.

Although details about the menu have not yet been announced by the owner of Lido House, Robert Olsen, the project will involve executive chef partner Riley Huddleston and chef Brian Kim. Huddleston is known for his work at The Mayor’s Table, the signature restaurant in Lido House.

In Kaiya’s Instagram announcement, Riley is described as the visionary behind the concept, who envisioned Kaiya as an “ocean house”, “where Japanese craftsmanship meets Newport Beach soul.” The post also highlights Riley’s desire to create “something special for our community, a place where you leave the menu to us and share in a story of sea and craft.”

Kaiya joins a growing wave of omakase concepts elevating Orange County’s dining landscape. The region has become increasingly recognized for its refined sushi offerings, with notable destinations including Omakase by Gino, Hana re, Rebel Omakase, and Naisho Omakase.

With its limited seating and luxury hotel setting, Kaiya is poised to bring an exclusive new dining experience to Newport Beach’s coastal culinary scene.
