Allentown, Pennsylvania will be getting a Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop franchise location on June 13, 2022, and the shop will be located at 5585 Hamilton Blvd. What Now Philadelphia spoke with owner Michael Seibert and confirmed the opening date and that his son Ryan Seibert and brother Bill Seibert will be operating the location.
Michael Seibert also said, per the phone conversation with What Now Philadelphia, that Capriotti’s customers should “get ready for a real Philly cheesesteak because we’ve never really had that in Allentown.” and that it was a single bite of the American wagyu cheesesteak sandwich that he had at a Capriotti’s that convinced him to set his sights on the brand and open up his own Capriotti’s shop. Each cheesesteak served at the Allentown Capriotti’s will be served on a Liscio’s roll and those rolls will be delivered fresh daily.
The Seibert family as a whole will play a role in the day-to-day operation at Capriotti’s in Allentown, with a pair of other family members on their minds. Michael Seibert said, per the Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop press release, “In the past year my mother and sister lost their lives to COVID-19. Both of them worked in the restaurant industry with Billy and I. We plan to open Capriotti’s and run the shop in honor of them. We want to greet every customer with a smile and great energy the way my mother and sister would have.”
The Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop chain was originally founded in Wilmington, Delaware, and has been in operation for 45 years and is known for its award-winning, hand-crafted cheesesteaks and turkey subs.
