Taco Tuesdays are about to get a little more exciting for Bethlehem residents. Local media outlet 69 News reports that the Lehigh Valley will be getting a new Taco Bell relatively soon.

The beloved Mexican chain will be occupying 2,722 square feet at 1620 East Fourth Street. The Bethlehem Planning Commission granted approval for the land development in August. The completed restaurant will feature a drive-thru and a parking lot that can accommodate up to 32 cars.

The Summerwood Corporation is spearheading the development of the Lehigh Valley’s latest Taco Bell. The franchisee owns and operates four chains, including Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut, and Long John Silver’s. Summerwood’s territory covers six states.

Having only recently received land approval, the Summerwood Corporation has not released a development timeframe for the latest restaurant, but it is unlikely the Taco Bell will open prior to mid-2024.

Taco Bell has developed an ardent following since first opening its doors in California in 1962. The chain has ballooned from its humble beginnings to include 8,218 restaurants, worldwide.

While tacos are the establishment’s main attraction, Taco Bell also serves a wide range of Mexican inspired dishes. Guests can enjoy combination meals that feature quesadillas, chalupas, burritos, and nachos.
