Movie stores may seem like a thing of the past, but a new shop in South Philadelphia is bringing the nostalgic concept back to life.

Little Movie Store, owned by Dylan Wise, will debut at 2001 S. 10 St. this fall.

Lining the shelves will be new and used VHS tapes, DVDs, Blu-rays and 4K titles, available for both rent and purchase.

For those looking to rent, Little Movie Store will offer a $160 annual membership. Members will have access to the full rental library and can check out up to three movies at a time.

There are no additional rental fees or limits on how many times members can check out movies during the year. Members can keep each movie for 14 days before returning it and swapping it for another title.

The rental library will be available to browse online, allowing members to see which titles are currently available before visiting the store.

The membership also includes 10% off in-store purchases, invitations to member events and a free movie on their birthday.

Membership is not required to shop at Little Movie Store. Roughly half of the store will feature movies for sale, which will be open to everyone, while the membership applies specifically to the rental library.

An official opening date has not yet been announced, but the shop plans to debut in October.

Once open, Little Movie Store will operate Thursday through Saturday from noon to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with member events taking place after business hours.

Visit the Little Movie Store website and follow along on Instagram for the latest updates.
