Taku Japanese Steakhouse of Indiana has a plan to open a new location of their restaurant in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. This new branch will be located at 330 Goddard Blvd in the space that formerly housed a Champps Kitchen and Bar. Taku Japanese Steakhouse has so far declined to comment in detail on the new location to What Now Philadelphia, but a local resident named Brian Beauchamp spotted the coming soon sign on the empty former Champps space and reported it on Google Maps.
Taku’s concept is Japanese-style Hibachi cooking and the restaurant also serves sushi and sashimi. The restaurant’s website states, “Taku Japanese Steakhouse will offer you a perfect dining experience. Enjoy the finest in steak and seafood prepared by our skillful Master Hibachi chefs on your tabletop grill. Our Sushi Chef utilizes the finest seasonal ingredients to emphasize the elements of color, shape, flavor, and texture. Each ingredient is carefully chosen and arranged to enhance your dining pleasure.” From the description on the website, there seems to be an element of entertainment in the cooking style that is perhaps similar to Benihana Restaurants with a theatrical presentation and eye-catching knife work from the chefs who cook the food tableside.
